Scientific research in Siddha could lead to breakthroughs -Vice president of India

The Vice President of India, Shri C. P. Radhakrishnan, inaugurated the 9th Siddha Day celebrations with the theme of “Siddha for Global Health” highlights global relevance of India’s ancient healing system.

During the celebration the TN Health Minister Ma. Subramanian said the State government has allotted Rs. 239 crores in the last five years for the development of Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homeopathy. He also added saying that, the world truly recognized the efficacy of Siddha during the COVID-19 pandemic.  “Siddha medicine emphasizes disease prevention, a disciplined lifestyle, dietary regulations, physical exercise and mental clarity,” he said.

He also said that, under the state’s flagship ‘MakkalaiThediMaruthuvam’ (Healthcare at your doorstep) scheme, Siddha treatments are included.

He also emphasized that every system of medicine has its own strengths and called for a positive and inclusive approach that utilizes the best of all medical systems for the benefit of humanity.
